Fencing for every level
Uptown Fencing Club offers instruction for fencers of every level, from foundational skills to advanced competitive strategies. Our curriculum, based on Italian fencing ideology, uses dynamic drills, exercises, and fun games to teach the art and science of fencing to scholars age 5 and up.
Beginner classes
Our beginner classes focus on fundamental fencing techniques, including footwork and bladework. We emphasize rules, respect, discipline, and building confidence while having fun.
Intermediate classes
Intermediate classes build on fundamentals for fencers who have completed our beginner level or have prior experience. Instructors teach proper technique, tactics, strategy, and introduce competitive bouting situations.
Competitive classes
Geared toward actively competing fencers, these classes are geared toward helping fencers find and develop their edge. Coaches expose fencers to the subtle nuances of fencing from the perspective of the Italian school with an emphasis on physical conditioning, mental focus, speed, coordination and techni-tactical bouting strategies.

This is our fast track to competitive fencing. 4 Classes per month (one per week) and 4 Private lessons. The beginner box can only be purchased 2 times.

UFC has built a reputation for developing some NYC's top fencing athletes over the past decade. preparing fencers for High School, collegiate, and national competitions.
Before participating in any club activity, all fencers need an AAU membership and must complete our registration form.
